OGMing

A distinctive piece of OGM's internal language: the noun "OGM" gets used as a verb. From OGM Culture/OGM Languaging.md:

OGM as a Verb

The languaging page is itself a stub — it lists topics for elaboration without filling them in. But "OGMing" appears across the corpus as the lived practice of the community.

What "OGMing" seems to mean

Triangulating across pages where "OGMing" or "OGM together" appears:

Three threads recur:

  1. Conversation as primary medium. OGM happens in calls, Mattermost, Discourse, the wiki — but the living form is the conversation.
  2. Patterns over rules. OGM Culture/OGM Community Patterns.md describes how new communities coalesce within OGM, not as procedure but as observed pattern.
  3. Documentation as a side-effect. Most of the wiki is meeting notes, draft documents, work-in-progress. The wiki is what gets left behind by OGMing, not the goal of it.

Other distinctive language

From OGM Culture/OGM Languaging.md (outline form):

That last one is striking: OGM resists vertical metaphors. Not "up the org chart" but "circles within circles" — a flat, recursive geometry.

Source disclaimer

OGM Culture/OGM Languaging.md is one of the most fragmentary pages in the source — section headings without bodies. This synthesis works by triangulation; some inferences may be wrong. Treat the source headings as an invitation to write, not as already-written.
